Dominic Burbidge completed his DPhil in Politics at Oriel College, University of Oxford. He was previously Departmental Lecturer at the School of Interdisciplinary Area Studies, University of Oxford, and Post-doctoral Research Associate at Princeton University. His research considers principles of democracy, social trust and devolution. He has previously researched constitutional change in East Africa, and published the book The Shadow of Kenyan Democracy with Ashgate in 2015 (republished with Routledge in 2016). Dr Burbidge has worked for two years in the House of Commons as Parliamentary Assistant to Jim Dobbin MP, and currently assists the Programme for the Foundations of Law & Constitutional Government at the University of Oxford. He has published numerous journal articles on democracy, trust and social science methodology.
